Assistant General Counsel

A Fort Smith-based public company is seeking an Assistant General Counsel to join its legal department.  The ideal candidate will have a minimum of three years of experience in a number of the practice areas cited above, with five to six years of experience preferred.  Preference will be given to candidates with experience in transportation/trucking law.  Contract/transactional work will include contracts involving transportation,  third-party vendors, real estate, IT, and equipment purchase/lease.  Candidates must have a general understanding of the legal and regulatory environment applicable to public companies.  Preference may be given to candidates with an undergraduate degree in a business-related field and/or an MBA.

Candidates must be licensed to practice in at lease one state.  Preference will be given to candidates already licensed to practice in Arkansas.

Candidates must have outstanding professional and academic credentials.  Excellent compensation, including bonus potential.
